Bunny CDN & S3 storage setup

Bunny CDN and S3 Storage: Faster Images, Lower Costs, Happier Customers.

Heavy product images and videos make your site slow and your server expensive. I move your media to Bunny Storage and deliver it through Bunny CDN, so pages load faster for every visitor and your server only does what it should.

  • Fixed quote, no surprises
  • Clear updates on WhatsApp
The problem

  • Product images load one by one

Large JPGs and PNGs served from one server, far from your visitors.

  • Server disk keeps filling up

Thousands of uploads and backups, and the hosting plan keeps getting bigger.

  • Bandwidth costs and slowdowns during sales

Every image request hits your server at the same moment.

  • Videos buffer or don't play

Your hosting was never built to stream video.

  • Moving servers is painful

Media files make every migration and backup huge.

  • Expensive cloud storage bills

Big-cloud storage and bandwidth pricing is hard to predict.

The good news: every one of these can be fixed. Here's how.

Global CDN

Files served from edge servers near your visitors

Pay as you go

Low, predictable usage-based pricing

S3 compatible

Works with standard S3 tools and SDKs

The solution

  1. Create the right zones

A storage zone in the best region (with S3 compatibility if you need it) and a pull zone with your own CDN hostname.

  2. Connect your website

Uploads go straight to Bunny Storage through its Storage API or S3-compatible API, from WordPress, Laravel or Next.js.

  3. Move existing media

Existing images and files are copied to Bunny and URLs updated, without broken images.

  4. Optimise delivery

Caching rules, WebP/AVIF images, optional Bunny Optimizer and a custom subdomain such as cdn.yourbrand.com with SSL.

  5. Secure and monitor

Hotlink protection, token authentication for private files if needed, and cost alerts.

What you get

  • Bunny Storage zone and CDN pull zone created and connected
  • Website uploads going directly to Bunny (Storage API or S3)
  • Existing media migrated with no broken links
  • Custom CDN hostname with free SSL
  • Image optimisation (WebP/AVIF) and cache rules
  • Purge, security and cost-monitoring setup

What is a CDN and why does it matter in Bangladesh?

A CDN (content delivery network) keeps copies of your images, videos, CSS and files on servers around the world. When someone in Dhaka or Sylhet opens your site, files come from a nearby edge server instead of travelling all the way to your hosting server. The result is faster pages, especially on mobile data, and much less load on your server.

Bunny.net is a popular CDN and storage provider known for strong performance and simple, low pay-as-you-go pricing. It's a great fit for online stores, news sites, portfolios and apps with lots of images or video.

Bunny Storage vs keeping files on your server

Files on your hosting server Bunny Storage + CDN
Speed for visitors Depends on one server's location Served from a nearby edge location
Server load Every image request hits the server Server only handles pages and data
Disk space Hosting plan fills up Storage grows separately, pay for what you use
Migrations and backups Huge, slow Code and database only; media stays on Bunny
Traffic spikes Can crash the server Absorbed by the CDN

Bunny's S3-compatible storage

Bunny Storage supports an S3-compatible API, so tools and libraries built for Amazon S3 can upload to Bunny with only a different endpoint and credentials. One important detail: S3 compatibility must be switched on when the storage zone is created; it can't be added to an existing zone later. If your current zone was created without it, the classic Bunny Storage API works just as well for websites, and I set up whichever fits your project.

Who benefits most

  • E-commerce stores with hundreds or thousands of product photos.
  • News, blog and magazine sites with lots of images.
  • Video and course platforms that need smooth playback.
  • Web apps where users upload files.
  • Anyone planning a website migration and wanting smaller, faster backups.

Proven setup

This website itself uses Bunny Storage and Bunny CDN for every image, with automatic WebP/AVIF conversion and an admin panel to manage it. Combine Bunny with Cloudflare security for a fast and protected website.

FAQ

Something else? Ask on WhatsApp.

Is Bunny CDN better than Cloudflare?

They do different jobs and work well together: Cloudflare is excellent for DNS, security and caching pages; Bunny is excellent for storing and delivering images, video and files at low cost.

How much does Bunny CDN cost?

Bunny uses pay-as-you-go pricing based on storage and bandwidth, with a small monthly minimum. For most small and medium websites the cost is low. I estimate it from your current usage before we start.

Can I use Bunny with WordPress?

Yes. WordPress, WooCommerce, Laravel, Next.js and custom sites can all upload to Bunny Storage and serve through Bunny CDN.

What is the difference between the Storage API and S3?

Both upload files to the same Bunny storage. The S3-compatible API lets you use standard S3 tools and SDKs, but must be enabled when the zone is created. The classic Storage API works with every zone.

Will my existing image links break?

No. Existing files are migrated and URLs updated, or redirected, so images keep working.

Can I keep private files secure?

Yes. Bunny supports token authentication so only signed links can access private files like invoices or course videos.
