Why Google suspends business profiles in Bangladesh
Google Business Profile (formerly Google My Business) is free, which is why Google is strict about who can use it. Suspensions are usually triggered automatically when something on the profile looks risky. The most common reasons we see for businesses in Dhaka, Chattogram and across Bangladesh are:
- Keywords added to the business name, for example “ABC Electronics – Best Mobile Shop in Dhaka”. Your name on Google must match the name on your signboard and documents.
- A virtual office, shared co-working desk or home address shown publicly when the business serves customers at their location.
- Wrong or too many categories, or a category that does not match what you actually do.
- Duplicate profiles for the same location, often created by an employee or an agency years ago.
- Sudden edits: changing the name, address and phone number at the same time looks suspicious to Google's systems.
- Review problems: buying reviews, review swaps or a sudden burst of reviews from new accounts.
- Restricted industries such as locksmiths, some financial services or businesses that need extra verification.
Hard suspension vs soft suspension
| Soft suspension | Hard suspension | |
|---|---|---|
| What you see | Profile shows “Suspended” in your dashboard, may still appear on Maps | Profile completely removed from Google Search and Maps |
| Reviews | Usually still visible | Hidden from customers |
| What it means | You can't manage the profile until it is verified again | Google believes the business is ineligible or the listing breaks guidelines |
| Recovery | Usually faster, with correct verification | Needs a strong appeal with clear evidence |
Knowing which one you have changes the strategy, so this is the first thing I check.
Why your first appeal may have failed
Most rejected appeals have the same problems: the profile was not fixed before appealing, the documents did not match the name and address on the profile, or several appeals were sent one after another. Google reviews the evidence, not the explanation. A good appeal is short, consistent and backed by documents that prove the business is real at that address.
What I need from you
- Access to the Google account that owns the profile (or a manager invitation).
- Your trade licence or other registration document showing the business name.
- A recent utility bill or rental agreement for the address.
- Clear photos of the signboard, shop entrance and inside the business. A short video walk-through helps for hard cases.
Can anyone guarantee reinstatement?
No, and you should be careful of anyone who promises it. Google makes the final decision. What I can promise is an honest assessment before you pay, a profile that follows the guidelines, a properly documented appeal and clear updates at every step. If your business genuinely does not qualify for a Google Business Profile, I will tell you, and help you win local customers through SEO and your website instead.
After your profile is back
Recovery is only half the job. Once reinstated, I help you rank again in the local “map pack” with correct categories, services, regular photo updates, posts and a safe review strategy, and connect the profile to your website and local SEO so you are not dependent on a single listing.
